Idaho man arrested for forcing another man to “moonwalk” at gun point

(Idaho)–A 30-year-old Clark Fork man is facing a felony assault charge for allegedly ordering another man to “moonwalk” at gunpoint. John Ernest Cross is charged with aggravated assault. Judge Barbara Buchanan sustained Cross’ $20,000 bail on Tuesday and ordered a public defender to represent him. Cross was also barred from contacting the alleged victim in the case. Sheriff’s deputies were summoned to Cross’ home on Mountain View Road on Monday, after receiving a report that he had been using drugs and pointed a rifle at another man while demanding that he execute the dance move. Late singer Michael Jackson popularized the moonwalk dance move, although a slew of other entertainers — from Cab Calloway and Ronnie Hawkins to David Bowie and Dick Van Dyke — have been credited for using a variation of the move. A probable cause affidavit describes the weapon Cross allegedly used as appearing to be an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle. During his initial court appearance on Tuesday, Cross said it was an Airsoft pellet gun.

No idea what is going on in this story.  A lot to take in.  A couple of bros just sitting around the house, doing drugs, drinking, and looking at guns.  To me, all of that sounds like a normal night in Idaho.  I just get can’t understand how they go from just hanging out to forcing your buddy to do the moonwalk at gun point.  Yet, I am still not ready to crucify the defendant either.  I feel like there must have been a good reason.  Like a bet or something that the his buddy wouldn’t pay up to.  I remember I was playing the drinking game “kings” the summer Michael Jackson died and one of rules for a corresponding card was that you had to do a MJ dance move right there on the dock.  I went with like the zombie move from Thriller and knocked it out of the park.  It was embarrassing and I would be pretty god damn pissed if the next person to draw that card refused to do it.  I wouldn’t pull a gun on the person for it, but I am also not from Idaho.  If something like that happened this guy should probably drop the charges against his buddy and apologize for being a bitch.
