The rest of the NFL is playing for 2nd in 2012. Patriots dominating Free Agency
The Patriots lost Superbowl 46 on a last second play without their best offensive weapon. Most teams would look at that season as a success and just stand pat during free agency. Not Bill Belichick. Belichick has spent free agency flying slightly under the radar and just plucking “2nd tier players” and plugging holes. So far the Patriots have signed Safety Steve Gregory, OG/OT Robert Gallery, DT/DE Jonathan Fanene, WR Brandon Lloyd, TE Daniel Fells, DE Trevor Scott, and WR Donte Stallworth. Belichick just absolutely lapped the field by adding quality depth players at areas of need. With Fells, Stallworth, Lloyd, and Gallery, the Patriots offense has literally ZERO weaknesses. Last season the Patriots offense was somewhat limited. They didn’t have a WR who could stretch the defense vertically or horizontally. Now the Patriots have two guys who fill that role. The Patriots have the look of an unstoppable offense. Perhaps even more unstoppable than 2007. Oh…and the Patriots have two first round picks and two second round picks. They can use those to further address the pass rush and the secondary. Bill Belichick is just lapping the field. It’s a great time to be a Patriots fan. This team couldn’t have been closer to a championship and now Belichick has put his roster over the top. Dynasty Reign.
PS: I know people are going to call me a hypocrite for loving the Dante Stallworth signing for the Patriots and saying how the Bears suck because they got Brandon Marshall. Marshall has had several incidences of being a wacko and beating women and shit. Stallworth accidentally involuntarily man slaughtered one guy while drunk driving in Cleveland. And I am pretty sure he was hanging out with Lebron James that night…so it was probably Lebron’s fault. Totally different scenario.

Et tu Bears?
(Sun Times)–The Bears began interviewing for their general-manager vacancy Monday by talking with New England Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht. They are looking to replace Jerry Angelo, who was fired Jan. 3. Licht, 40, got his first NFL job as a scouting assistant with the Miami Dolphins in 1995. He joined the Patriots as a college scout in 1999, then became the Philadelphia Eagles’ assistant director of player personnel in 2002. He was promoted to vice president of player personnel in 2003. After a year with the Arizona Cardinals, Licht returned to the Patriots as director of pro personnel in February 2009. Phil Emery of the Kansas City Chiefs, Jimmy Raye of the San Diego Chargers and Marc Ross of the New York Giants will interview for the job later this week. Bears player-personnel director Tim Ruskell also will be interviewed.
Well it’s mid-January, which means its time for other football organizations to start trying to fix all of their problems by hiring one of Belichick’s lemmings. It’s a January tradition as old as time. Looks like the Bears are going to be the next team to try to steal some of that Belichick magic. The Bears’ GM search is on and at the top of their list is Patriots’ Director of Pro Personnel Jason Licht. I don’t know one thing about Jason Licht, except that I know he doesn’t know anything. Here is the problem with trying to hire Belichick’s guys…they aren’t Belichick.
These guys are a dime a dozen…
There is only one…
DYNASTY REIGN!!!
