Lock of the Century: NHL Finals Game 5 Edition

Boston Bruins +150 @ Vancouver Canucks -170

This line scares the absolute hell out of me.  Anybody who saw the last two games would never have spit out a line like this. That makes me think Costa Rica knows something I don’t know…but then I realized that is impossible because I don’t think they even have the internet down there.

My biggest fear is that the Canucks will play Cory Schneider.  Not only do I think that Schneider is just the better goalie, but he is also mentally stable.  The Bruins would still have the edge in goaltending obviously, but not a 12-1 edge that they have enjoyed the past two games.  Even if Costa Rica knows that Schneider is the starter, is Schneider and home ice really worth -170 on the moneyline?  I don’t think so. My gut tells me Elaine will stick with the Veteran grease ball goalie with all the mental problems, but Luongo will have a short leash.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Sedin are terrible.  They are like -32 combined in the series so far and I don’t think Henrik has a shot on net.  Chara and the Bruins team defense has completely shut them down and Marchand is getting under their skin like only Dave Bolland has been able to do in the past.  The Canucks are a gutless team and home ice won’t change that.  Give me Captain America Tim Thomas and the rest of the Boston Bruins.

You do know anyone on the internet can read this right? Try and have an ounce of objectivity.

If you had watched the Canucks at any point this year, besides playing the Blackhawks, you’d have seen the Sedins taking as much physical abuse as any player in the league, bouncing off it, and winning the scoring title yet again. You’d have seen the Canucks face the most injuries in the league and still win the presidents trophy.

If you had watched this series with any objectivity whatsoever, you’d have seen Thomas rob the Sedins on multiple occasions. You’d have seen the Sedins dominate puck possession for long periods of time.

A team doesn’t get to the finals by being gutless. If you think that, then you are disrespecting the quality of the league. Get over your yourself, and try thinking about what you type before you type it. There is a lot to criticize the Canucks for this playoffs – this round and the round against Chicago in particular – but my goodness you look like an idiot spewing biased, thoughtless garbage like this. You really should be ashamed.

You’re just lashing out. The truth hurts. You’re mad at the Canucks, not at me I forgive you.

I feel bad for this guy too. Anyone who has been watching this series with any objectivity would see a lucky team who barely beat the bruins in the first 2 games. The goal differential in the first 2 games was 2 in favor of the canucks. In the last 2 it was 11 in favor of the bruins. The sedins can’t take a hit and only have 2 points combined (both from Daniel) henrik has 0.000000 points and is averaging 0.5 shots per game.

You keep saying that the sedins took physical abuse all year and still won the scoring title. Guess what, nobody cares about the regular season right now. It’s the Stanley cup final and the fact is that the sedins are getting the shit kicked out of them by chara and seidenberg. Luongo has lost all confidence in himself. By the way last time I checked only one person can win the scoring title not two.

i can’t believe the shit the canucks are trying to pull right now. At least the refs see most of it too.

    Lock of the century eh?

my original lock of the century for the series was Bruins in 7. Sticking to it. Dont get all tough now that you got one little grease ball win on home ice.

It’s amazing how cocky these sobs get every time they pull one of these games out of their a#ses. Inevitably they get croaked in their next outing and they start in with the refs cheating, the NHL is out to get them, the ice is somehow screwing them, etc. etc. What you will never hear is an honest assessment about how their team got dragged up & down the ice…..again!
