Why I Hate The Canucks

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals was the perfect example of why I hate the Vancouver Canucks.  They are a gutless, euro-trash, team of divers and whiners.  The sequence at the end of the first period was disgusting.  Scrums are just part of hockey, but the Canucks can’t even do that right.  Hamuis and Bieksa both try to take on Chara at the same time.  Trying to goad the big guy into taking a penalty, knowing full well that neither of them would ever have the guts to actually throw with Chara.  Bieksa looks real tough when he jumps rookies from behind like Viktor Stalberg or when he challenges finesse “star” players like Patrick Marleau.  He would never fight somebody who is actually tough or bigger than him.  Bieksa is gutless.  Chara would have made Bieksa’s face concave.

Burrows is complete scum.  Everyone is talking about the biting incident, and for good reason.  However, I thought him grabbing the visor of Bergeron was also just another example of the type of play that makes Burrows a gutless rat. I was thrilled that he got 4 minutes for biting, and then another two for slew-footing Tim Thomas from behind later in the game.  Burrows has been this type of player his entire career, and I hope his actions are finally catching up to him.  He is the west coast version of Sean Avery.

The diving by the Sedins and by the Canucks as a whole was disgusting.  They are just the worst.  The Canucks have no integrity.  Hockey is a game of honor and the way the Canucks play the game is an affront to the tradition and soul of the game itself.  They are unworthy of winning the Stanley Cup.  I hope the Bruins can find a way to create more quality chances than they had in game one.  They will need more sand and net presence to win the series.  Tim Thomas did everything he could.  I still like the Bruins in 7…nothing from Game 1 suggests the Bruins can win the Series, but I believe the Hockey Gods will intervene and prevent this team from winning.

PS: Ryan Kesler is the only Canuck I respect

Marleau Challenged Bieksa and Marleau had his gloves off first…so it was his own fault he had his ass handed to him. Patrick was trying to get some emotion into his team and he just picked the wrong guy. he is also a cpl inches taller and 25 lbs heavier than Bieksa so thats the way the cookie crumbles…find some more excuses douche

Watching Game 1 clearly confirms that the Blackhaws are far superior to the Vancouver Yuks. I guess that real Canadian hockey fans are pulling for the Bruins to beat the euro-floppers. The Yuks don’t deserve to be Champions of a man’ sport. Burrows should try hot dog eating…what a disgrace.

burrows is pretty gutless, but i wouldn’t go so far as to say bieksa is a coward. he weighs 198lbs, making him smaller than most enforcers and d-men. there are plenty of things you can take issue with regarding the canucks, and it’s your right to do so, but they’re not doing anything other teams are not.

maybe you’re just noticing it more because as weak and pitiful as vancouver is, they still beat chicago.

Look it, they barely beat our JV team. If Bolland plays in that series, the Hawks probably win in 6, if not quicker. This was a transitional year for the Blackhawks and they still are the best team in the league.

I think if knew the story of how Burrows fought and scrapped his way up to the big times you wouldn’t be saying those types of things. The biting is just a heat of the moment thing, not really a big deal tbh. I can’t deny the diving because I hate it so much. I think you should be suspended for diving in any sport and that it shouldn’t be put up with. However, you use diving as an example yet you say you really respect Kesler but he is most notorious for diving out of any Canuck player. Bieksa is as tough as they come and if you ever saw him play on a regular basis you would know that. This is a wasteful argument especially coming from a Vancouver fan but this seems to stem more from 3 straight years of playoff battle hate than anything else.

Here’s a brief article about Burrows journey if you want to bother yourself with it. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/blogs/timwharnsby/2011/06/burrows-may-bite-but-hes-a-story-of-fight.html

I know the Burrows story. Congratulations on making the NHL, but I don’t respect the way he plays the game. That’s like saying you respect Wall St bankers for getting rich by doing shitty things. Burrows is a joke.

Kesler plays hard. He is a complete player and I think he has curtailed some of the diving, chirping, whining, etc that was a distraction earlier in his career. The guy battles, plays exceptional hockey in all three zones and is in my opinion the Canucks best players. Bieksa isn’t tough. I dont care what Don Cherry says. His bark is worse than his bite.

Yes, a lot of my hatred has stemmed from the playoffs and regular season battles going back to 2008, but thats not the whole story. The playoff battles and rivalry with the Blackhawks makes it personal, and makes me hate them…but even if I was like a Carolina fan or something I wouldnt respect the Canucks. I watch a lot of Vancouver games because often by the time I get home from blogging my ass off only the West coast games are still going on NHL Center Ice. They are gutless and are unworthy of the Cup.

I can’t even believe what a homer you are. It’s unbearable to read this drivel. You give Chicago a bad name. Instead of making a valid point about Burrows biting, you go on and on, calling him a gutless rat, when Chicago has a guy whose nickname is THE RAT (Bolland) for a reason. Every team, except probably the Habs, has at least one player like this.

Then you rip on Bieksa for beating up bigger players. Yes Stahlberg is bigger and taller, so is Marleau. Stahlberg was running around in a blowout and then he tried to spear/slash Lapierre in the back of the leg. Marleau threw the first punch. Sorry but these are facts. If you want to question Bieksa’s toughness, look at game 6. He took an almost identical hit to the Torres on Seabrook hit from Bickell, spit out some blood and got right back up. Bieksa is very tough, but also incredibly valuable to that team. He’s a top pairing Dman. If he’s not taking off a “star” or top line player, fighting is a terrible idea.

Your comments are so one-sided I almost thought this site was a parody from a Vancouver fan, making fun of Blackhawks homers. But alas, I fear you are serious.

    • June 3, 2011 at 2:54 pm

100% serious. Marleau and Stalberg are bigger in stature, but they aren’t fighters.

Bolland is a neusance, but he isnt dirty. He is nicknamed the rat…because that’s what he looks like. He’s one ugly bastard.

Burrows is gutless. He dives all over the place. He pulls hair. He bites opposing players. I have no respect for the way he plays the game. If this team was wearing different laundry you would feel the same way about them. No real hockey fan can respect them. They are a joke. Vancouver has great fans, but they are just blinded by their love for the team and are desperate for a winner. So desperate that they would cheer for a team like this. FREE KESLER and FREE CORY SCHNEIDER. Those are the only two guys worthy of the cup and they dont deserve to be associate with pukes like Burrows and Bieksa

Just another Chicago fan that’s looking for attention because his team couldn’t cut it. You’d be lying to yourself if you said Chicago doesn’t have divers or agitators, something pretty much every NHL team employs. Trolls like you will only make the championship sweeter for us Canuck fans.

Maybe you should focus on what the Hawks can improve to EARN their way into the playoffs next year instead of relying on other teams to fail to get in.

    • June 6, 2011 at 2:56 pm

There is a difference between being gritty and being an agitator and being gutless.

The Blackhawks will win the president’s trophy and the Stanley Cup next season.

Hahaha I love this article. It’s so true man I wish more people saw this. I was honestly baffled by the way the Canucks play. True definition to the word gutless.
